"If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live"-Rev. King
The weather is all too characteristic on a day such as this. As we look back on April 4, 1968, the day that will forever be etched in stone as the day our country lost a true man of valor, and of great character. It is because of Dr. King, a man that stood for equality & justice for all mankind, that WE are able to live the lives that we live, & are able to tell the stories that we tell.
Yeah, we all know what the history books tell us, but it is up to each individual to dig further beneath the surface to find out what OUR history means. The older I get, the more I understand, it only takes ONE courageous individual to step out on faith and be the spokesperson for the masses. In his final speech "I've Been To The Mountaintop", if you listen & really dissect his message, ...I've looked over & seen the promised land, I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight, we AS a PEOPLE WILL get to the promised land... Mine eyes have the seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.. In those few stances, he, in so many words, was preparing for his untimely demise. He wanted his followers to prepare as well.
Really take this day to reflect not only on his life, but his message. Stand for change! Be not afraid of doing what's right, even when others feel it is wrong. He died so we, as Americans, could progress as a UNIFIED people. Let's not forget his legacy. May he continue to rest in heavenly peace!

People should realize that we all accomplised so much standing as a "WE" rather than an "I". People have lost the path that he and other leaders have developed for us. Blacks killing their own children, and women and themselves in a world made for us to conquer. If people could open their eyes and realize that as a "We" anything can be accomplished, things like slavery still exist but subsided due to these leaders influences. If we can abolish something like that imagine the possibilities. RIP MLK
