I think Mary was on to something with this one... in fact, I'm sure of it. This song hits home for me, especially recently, I've learned another lesson. New Edition had a song called Can You Stand The Rain? I counter that with this question: can you stand the sunshine? See, it's one thing to have friends who have your back when you're going through the storms of life and things aren't so good. But what happens when you decide to make life better for yourself? When the storms of sadness are washed away and success showers down, how many umbrellas can you count? Quite simply, everybody doesn't want to see you succeed. I made a vow to myself that I would no longer allow the dead weight of other people's negativity to hold me down and prevent me from flying high. For that reason, I offer you Mary J.
